Camping out!

For Father's Day we went for a little camp out up to Navajo Lake over by Cedar City. When we lived in Cedar City after we were first married and were going to school, we would go on Sunday drives up the canyon all the time, and we found Navajo Lake on one of our excursions. There is a little campground right next to the lake complete with bathrooms, and I am all about not having to find a big bush to go pee. Anyway, it's one of our favorite places to camp (besides the cabin of course!).

First my boys put up my shelter. Aiden loves to hammer. He does it any chance he gets.

We brought Aiden's dozer, he loves that thing and we thought he would like to use it to push some dirt around, because that's what it is intended use is.

We were right. Every chance he got he was heading off into the "woods" (the little patch of trees right by the side of our campsite) and he would get to work, moving dirt around.

See that hole in the ground that his legs are in? He and Toby combined efforts and dug several holes all over the place, then Aiden would go back to one of the holes periodically and dig some more. See all that dirt covering the front of my child? There is a lot more where that came from! Aiden liked to scoop up the dirt with the blade of the dozer, and then picked up the dozer and poured the dirt all down his front. He never had any less dirt on him than this, and another thing he thought was fun was to get really dirty like this, and then run into the tent and jump all over our little makeshift bed. It wasn't pretty.Right down the road a little from Navajo Lake there is this cute little pond called Duck Creek, and it is always just full of cute little ducks. Since Aiden loves ducks so much, we took him to see them. When we got there, we couldn't see any so I asked Aiden, where are the ducks?
Oh! There's a couple! Right after we found these we looked across the pond and there were all the ducks, probably about 25 of them all together on the other side of the pond.

Aiden kept trying to climb up this tree, so Kenny lifted him up into it. You can't tell from the picture, but it's quite high up! Aiden loved it though, and when we asked him several times if he wanted to get down he said No!

Saturday night Kyle and Porter came up to hang out with us for a little while. We had so much fun playing with Porter, he is so cute. He kept saying Hi! to us, and trying to climb in the fire. We had to distract him with anything we could. We told him that if he was a good boy he could roast marshmallows, look how excited he is!
Porter was trying to play with Aiden, but Aiden was being a brat and didn't want Porter touching his chair. He kept saying "no no no, Porter!". If you've never seen an almost two year old try to discipline an almost one year old, you should sometime, it's kind of funny.

We had such a fun time, but when it was time to come home it definitely was time to come home. I thought I would get a nice tan while we were on "vacation" so I put on capris and set out in the sun for a little while and instead all I got was burnt crispy. I should have known, I don't tan. I gave Aiden his dramamine too late, and he threw up in the car on the way home. Twice. We're glad to be home and showered!
