Cozzens Camp (day 1)

The first annual Cozzens Camp was held up at Johnson's cabin.

It was a week of non-stop fun and adventure that almost killed mom and I.

 

First thing on the agenda, every day, was flag ceremony.

Each of the kids took a turn putting up the flag each day, and leading

the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Then everybody met on the back porch stairs to plan out the day and

learn the rules of Cozzens Camp.

 

Not sure what happened that brought us all back to the flag

after we had already had flag ceremony and left, but it made for a great picture!

 



We made rock monster magnets which explains arming six children six and under with

cans of spray paint.

 



We did a lot of playing in the "back yard". On the swings, teeter totter and trampoline.

 





 

We played some tee ball.

 

 

I can't stop laughing at this picture. He hit the tee, and knocked it all the way over,

but the ball is still hanging there in mid-air.

 

 

Every day we also had an hour or so of "quiet time" during

which Grandma read Pippi Longstockings.

And one or two of the kids would fall asleep.

 

 

We did a lot of fishing this week, starting at the creek on the first day.

 

Porter picked flowers every chance he got and presented them

to either grandma or me all week. What a sweetheart!

 



And lastly, Grandma showed all the boys how to make a "farter"

( I can't remember if it had a different name?) that made a fart sound to trick people.

They were all big fans and thought it was hilarious!
